BrainJams Washington, DC - January 30, 2006
Overview
NEW: Present a Blog Post (http://www.brainjams.org/wordpress/25/01/2006/brainjams30jan2006-quick-update) for the Confersation!
The morning 'session' will be a great opportunity for you to meet and share ideas with 12-15 new people from different backgrounds. The signature of a BrainJams Unconference is knowledge networking, where you have 5 minutes to share your passions and projects with another participant and get feedback while contributing your experiences to others. Imagine speed dating for knowledge instead of amorous relations :)
The afternoon will be a loose collection of participant lead confersations on using social media. Some have called it a "Web 2.0 User Group" but we hope it is much more. The proposed agenda is located at 30Jan2006Agenda. BrainJams founder, Chris Heuer (http://www.chrisheuer.com/) will be leading an introductory track for people who are just getting started, while other participants will join in as needed to share their experiences. We are also planning tracks for "Power Users" to share deeper insights, tips and tricks and for "Developers" who want to show off what they are working on, or just get feedback for their ideas. In the late afternoon, we will all come together to share our experiences from the day and capture the ideas that were shared in a collective mind map that will be posted online to extend the conversations.
At the end of the day 'BrainOff' event, we will be holding a drawing for a new copy of Mind Manager Pro 6 from MindJet.

Drinks and a Geek Dinner
UPDATE: Happy Hour at Lucky Bar (http://washingtondc.citysearch.com/profile/11273290/) - 1221 Connecticut Ave. Thanks to Lockergnome (http://www.lockergnome.com/) and Gada.be (http://gada.be/) who will be buying everyone a beer or two!
We are planning to hit Lucky Bar (across the street and up a little from the Improv) for happy hour drinks following BrainJams and then head over to the Daily Grill for a geek dinner starting at 7pm. Everyone is welcome at both. The beauty of a happy hour - the drinks are cheap and will be a good way to unwind. The Daily Grill is moderately priced, so figure about $35 per head if you are going to throw back a cocktail or two there as well. They also ask for 'business casual' attire, so I guess no flip flops or tube tops.
